WELCOME TO APRIL FOOLS’ DAY, a New Year’s Day for those of us foolish enough to follow an astrological calendar. April Fools’ pranks give us a relatively harmless outlet for the brash energy of the sun, Mercury, and Uranus, all now in feisty Aries. A lighthearted day can help us let off steam, decreasing the pressure from the Aries planets.

International and local politics usually wind up when the sun heads into Aries, and this year’s Aries revolution began with a bang as explosions rocked Europe and heated rhetoric ensued. The Aries spark demands we do something, anything, and do it now. However, we have to add compassion and wisdom to do the right thing. So, with loving kindness and a twinkle in the eye, let’s get our sense of humor back. It doesn’t make the big picture any less scary, or the problems our world is facing any less dire, but it can help restore resilience so that we stay involved and do the work.

We may need that resilience with a nervy Mercury/ Mars aspect unsettling us as the weekend begins, ready to set off any waiting fuel, both practical and political. With social justice issues front and center, let’s see if we can smooth the waters.

At the beginning of the week, we are unusually aware of our vulnerabilities under a sensitive moon in Pisces. The Aries momentum runs into the Piscean nerves like a bull in a china shop. If we feel our sensitivities are not safe, things will get difficult later in the week. We have a new Aries moon on Thursday, which can propel anything our hearts desire if we maintain impulse control, keeping our wisest selves and most compassionate hearts behind the wheel.

FRIDAY, APRIL 1: Unpredictable aspects can leave us wary this morning. We are a bit sensitive but ready for camaraderie, though our attention may wander midday. We grow stronger and more extroverted — but also potentially anxious or impulsive — tonight.

SATURDAY, APRIL 2: We may be looking for trouble, or at least adventure, this morning. Keep an eye on mechanical issues, and if the coffee spills, slow down. Afternoon brings a collaborative, eccentric, and positive but independent vibe.

SUNDAY, APRIL 3: Let’s catch up with ourselves, our community, and spring’s progress as the moon makes a few pleasant aspects this morning. Deal with fuzzy thinking and potentially low energy as the moon enters sensitive Pisces later on.

MONDAY, APRIL 4: Go gently with one another; we feel both softer and more permeable, and more reactive if we’re uncomfortable. Share visions for the future, dream about possibilities, and brainstorm to launch the coming new moon.

TUESDAY, APRIL 5: We can feel old and thoughtful early on but move into a constructive and competent, if touchy, day. We’re still sparky, but it will be an emotional reaction; thoughts and words become more considered, but also more determined.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6: Flowers burst forth and energy builds as the moon enters Aries this morning. Endings clear the way for fresh beginnings. Avoid giving direct orders. Use discontent to assess, clear the decks, and clarify goals; be ready for launch tomorrow.

THURSDAY, APRIL 7: Run with the green light as the initiatory new moon in Aries conjuncts electrical Uranus and launches us out of the gate. This can also unleash monsters, so keep watch. Stay in charge and focus on the long haul, because what we begin today will have legs.
