To en­ter Res­tau­rante El Sal­vadoreño, sit­u­ated next to the Days Inn on Cer­ril­los Road, is to pass into a world of Sal­vado­ran pride. The menu fea­tures a va­ri­ety of pu­pusas, along with am­ple com­bi­na­tion plates, tamales, soups, some egg-cen­tric break­fast op­tions, tor­tas, and a few Amer­i­can choices. The pu­pusas are well formed, though their contents are hit or miss, and the plates of­fer a great meal for a good value. Rec­om­mended: aguas fres­cas, chile verde pu­pusa, steak ranchero, fried plan­tains.
