The Croa­t­ian gui­tarist Ana Vi­dovic´ ar­rives in town to play tran­scrip­tions of a Bach suite for un­ac­com­pa­nied cello and two Scar­latti key­board sonatas, as well as sev­eral works orig­i­nally penned for the guitar by Agustín Bar­rios Man­goré, Manuel Ponce, Toru Takemitsu, and Fran­cisco Tár­rega (his ubiq­ui­tous “Re­cuer­dos de la Al­ham­bra,” with­out which gui­tarists would all just have to pack it in and go home). The con­cert takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Fri­day, April 15, in St. Fran­cis Au­di­to­rium (New Mex­ico Mu­seum of Art, 107 W. Palace Ave.) in con­junc­tion with the mu­seum’s ex­hibit Me­dieval to Metal: The Art and Evo­lu­tion of the Guitar.
