Sandra Filippucci: Voices of Light II 2016, 3-D rendering, oil wash, graphite on birch panel
Evoke Contemporary, 550 S. Guadalupe St., 505-995-9902 Former gallerist Linda Durham curates Joan of Arc: Voices of Light, an exhibition of mixed-media paintings by Sandra Filippucci, who has made the historic figure her muse for several series of works. Her portraits of Joan of Arc combine oils, plaster, graphite and other mediums with 3-D computer renderings. “Daughter of the soil without portrait or grave, Joan of Arc’s legacy is that she represents action beyond self-interest, the hope of advocacy for the good,” Filippucci writes. The exhibit opens Friday, April 29, with a 5 p.m. reception.
