Santa Fe Symphony; Latin alt-musician De’Anza; Debrianna Mansini’s one-woman show, The Meatball Chronicles; saxophonist Brian Wingard

Ryan McAdams did impressive work at his two audition visits during the Santa Fe Symphony’s recent conductor search. He didn’t get the job, but he no doubt earned a following among the town’s music lovers, who will look forward to hearing him lead the orchestra in a host of middle-period Beethoven this weekend. The orchestra plays the Leonore Overture No. 3 and Symphony No. 7; the Santa Fe Symphony Chorus joins in for a selection from the incidental music for The Ruins of Athens and the Choral

Fantasy (with Sean Chen as piano soloist); and Chen takes a solo turn with Liszt’s piano transcription of the finale from Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. Concerts take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, and 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at the Lensic Performing Arts Center (211 W. San Francisco St.). For tickets ($25-$80), call the Symphony at 505-983-1414 or make arrangements through the Lensic (505-988-1234, www.ticketssantafe.org). — James M. Keller
