Charley David­son, pro­tag­o­nist of The Curse of Tenth Grave, leads a hec­tic life in Albuquerque. She is a part-time pri­vate in­ves­ti­ga­tor and a re­luc­tant Grim Reaper, who toes the line be­tween the ev­ery­day world and the su­per­nat­u­ral with her abil­ity to see and touch the dead who have lin­gered af­ter their pass­ing. In this in­stall­ment, she’s set out to trap three malev­o­lent gods who are try­ing to kill her baby daugh­ter — whom she has given to oth­ers to raise in or­der to save both their lives. Au­thor Darynda Jones is back with new ad­ven­tures for Charley, who has pre­vi­ously bat­tled evil forces in such books as Fourth Grave Be­neath My Feet and Sev­enth Grave and No Body, all pub­lished by St. Mar­tin’s Press.
