Dulcet tones: Little Tybee

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS -

Little Tybee, a wonderfully creative band from Atlanta, takes the stage at Gig Performance Space (1808 Second St.) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28. The group plays in the indie-pop-folk realm — the music is complex but accessible, and often sweet. The musicians are performing material from their new self-titled album. One standout is “Languid,” boasting a scintillating intro by eight-string guitarist Josh Martin and violinist Nirvana Kelly; then the rest of the band joins in, bassist Ryan Donald and percussionist Pat Brooks working in strong support behind the exquisite falsetto singing of Brock Scott. Watch for examples of Martin’s pretty awesome “glitch tapping” guitar technique. Tickets are $20 at the door. See www.gigsantafe.com for information. — P.W.
