this week is encourage someone to tell his or her story. This morning, the sun joins Mercury and Venus in expressive Leo. Think of the Cowardly Lion in The

Wizard of Oz. He is warm, generous, demonstrative, at the center of everything, and defined himself in the reflections of others’ eyes. There is a reason why so many arts and music festivals abound during the month of Leo.

Under this lineup, we can have trouble discerning between drama and melodrama or may need to act out our feelings in order to express our urgency or quiet depths within. We can make mountains out of molehills. This potential for histrionics can be tricky while we’re already so inundated with dramatic events unfolding around the globe.

The Leo alignment offers an opportunity to let go of this last month’s Cancerian self-protective, clannish edge, and instead, to express the warmth and generosity we need to heal — or it can bring events so wild we wouldn’t believe it in a movie. We humans have the choice.

Paradoxically, Leo also asks us to come back to ourselves. It can be healing to put ourselves in the center, but we need to do it consciously, rather than become oblivious to others’ needs.

This summer’s big challenges are not over. Mars in Scorpio, until Aug. 2, gives us focus but promotes resentment and a ruthless selfprotection. Restrictive Saturn squares intuitive, spiritual Neptune through early September and challenges our faith and imagination. Momentum will build next week as the moon enters active Aries on Sunday and forms a dynamic trine with Saturn, Mercury, and Venus on Monday. It’s important to vote for what we want by putting our energy toward a just, bountiful, and peaceful world.

FRIDAY, JULY 22: Our hearts are close to the surface. Finish responsibilities in the afternoon. Engage active imagination tonight; arts, stories, or a good movie can help us reconnect within.

SATURDAY, JULY 23: Morning brings a soft, melancholic edge. Find comfortable ways to use the heart. Help someone feel happy or cared for, and feel the abundance return. Afternoon is emotional, if sometimes sleepy. Tonight brings the potential for a healing moment.

SUNDAY, JULY 24: Whatever we do, we have to do it our way as the moon enters Aries this morning. We’ll speak up and feel a fresh impetus this afternoon. Let’s make sure it’s in a good direction.

MONDAY, JULY 25: We may see more problems than answers this morning, but that changes quickly; people stay reactive but become more solutionoriented midday. A lot of emotional fuel pools; strike a match with care. Late night can sharpen impatient edges.

TUESDAY, JULY 26: The moon enters solid, tactile Taurus this afternoon and squares the sun, and we can entrench ourselves in the hammock or in our political views. Let’s make sure we like where we plant ourselves in body, mind, and spirit.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 27: It’s a good day to catalyze change or change our minds. We’re more open-minded and exploratory as mental Mercury trines curious Uranus. We also need to feel cared for in tangible ways: Check in on one another and make sure everyone’s OK.

THURSDAY, JULY 28: Argumentative crosswinds and minor accidents are possible this morning as the moon opposes active Mars. Stay safe. Communication improves later as the moon enters verbal Gemini; laugh about earlier grumpiness.
