So­pra­nos soar at Fes­ti­val of Song

Per­for­mance Santa Fe’s Fes­ti­val of Song se­ries con­tin­ues this week with a pair of recitals fea­tur­ing large-voiced so­pra­nos. On Sun­day, July 31, An­gela Meade and pi­anist Joseph Il­lick (PSF’s artis­tic di­rec­tor) make the rounds of fa­vorite arias from Puc­cini’s La ron­dine, Verdi’s La forza del des­tino, Korn­gold’s Die tote Stadt, and Cata­lani’s La Wally, in ad­di­tion to songs by Liszt, Bellini, and Strauss. On Thurs­day, Aug. 4, Leah Cro­cetto (this sum­mer’s Donna Anna in Santa Fe Opera’s pro­duc­tion of Don Gio­vanni )is joined by pi­anist Ta­mara Sanikidze for arias from Rossini’s

Semi­ramide and Carlisle Floyd’s Su­san­nah, as well as songs by Strauss, Rach­mani­noff, and Liszt — plus sev­eral jazz se­lec­tions. The concerts take place at 4 p.m. on their re­spec­tive af­ter­noons, at the Scot­tish Rite Cen­ter, 463 Paseo de Per­alta.
