1979, acrylic and oil on board
Addison Rowe Gallery, 229 E. Marcy St., 505-982-1533 Not Famous But Important ,a two-person show of works by Lawrence Calcagno and Louis Catusco, opens Friday, July 29. Calcagno, a former student of Clyfford Still and Richard Diebenkorn, lived in numerous locations around the world — including Taos — and his work is inspired by the friends he made during his many travels. Catusco, who also spent time in Taos, lived a monastic lifestyle. After winning several awards for his art, he became reclusive and stopped exhibiting, although he continued to paint. The opening reception for the exhibition is at 5 p.m.
