Peters Projects, 1011 Paseo de Peralta, 505-954-5800 Navajo artist Christine Nofchissey McHorse’s first solo exhibition at Peters Projects draws from her Dark Light series, comprising works in ceramic, steel, bronze, and drawings that were created between 1997 and the present. Her work reflects a modernist influence by way of traditional Pueblo and Navajo aesthetics transformed into organic, primordial shapes and forms. The show opens Friday, Aug. 12, with a 5 p.m. reception. This is the inaugural exhibition of the new Peters Projects Ceramics & Design program, helmed by director and curator Mark Del Vecchio. McHorse joins Del Vecchio and leading ceramic scholar Garth Clark for a discussion on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m.
