The wailers: GRYGRDNS

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS -

Up-and-coming musical phenomenon GRYGRDNS release their debut album,

Interwoven, on Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Meow Wolf Art Complex (1352 Rufina Circle, 505-395-6369) with a little help from local favorites D Numbers and Storming the Beaches with Logos in Hand. Vocalists Eliza Lutz (guitar) and Miranda Scott (keyboards) blend their impressive voices into a duet that would rival a side-project collaboration of Siouxsie Sioux and Sinead O’Connor, as they bring their own innovative take to the tradition of wailing women in art rock. All the tracks on Interwoven are named for different types of fabric, including “Houndstooth,” “Brocade,” and “Herringbone,” which brings together the themes of DIY craft — an interest of Lutz’s — and the layering of form and meaning with the tactile quality of textiles. Doors open at 8 p.m.; tickets to the show are $10 in advance and $13 at the door, available at www.meowwolf.com. — Jennifer Levin
