2016, bronze and found object glass
Rotunda Gallery, New Mexico State Capitol, 490 Old Santa Fe Trail, 505-986-4589 What alchemists attempted with base metals, turning them into gold, artists do with their ideas. A new show on view at the State Capitol Rotunda presents works by five established artists — Ann Laser, Patricia Pearce, Marilyn Chambers, Bill Skrips, and Amy Parrish — on the themes of alchemy and decay. Alchemy of Decay is up through Dec. 9. A Baroque and Renaissance flute performance by Kateri Chambers, inspired by the exhibition, takes place at the First Presbyterian Church (208 Grant Ave., 505-982-8544, Ext. 16) on Friday, Sept. 2, at 5:30 p.m.
