New Mexico History Museum, 113 Lincoln Ave., 505-476-5200 The museum exhibit Fractured Faiths: Spanish Judaism, The Inquisition, and New World Identities tells the story of Sephardic Jews, faced with exile under King Ferdinand in the 15th century, who sought a new life in the Americas to escape religious persecution. A free symposium at the museum explores the themes of the show, with talks by historians, anthropologists, musicians, and genealogists. The symposium is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10; for more information, call 505-476-5082. The exhibit is up through December.
