Get comfortably numb: Pink Freud and Let It Grow
If only time travel were as easy as sinking into the music of yesteryear and letting it carry you away to a simpler era — a time when Pink Floyd still played to packed stadiums and Jerry Garcia was still bringing crowds of thousands to their feet in sonic ecstasy. If this is what you long for, you’re in luck: two respected cover bands, Pink Freud and Let It Grow, play a Psychedelic Soiree on Friday, Oct. 21, 6:30 p.m. at The Bridge at Santa Fe Brewing Company (37 Fire Place, 505-424-3333). Pink Freud faithfully recreates the sights and sounds of Pink Floyd, complete with a vocalist who can wail “The Great Gig in the Sky,” while Let It Grow focuses on the improvisational instrumentation of the legendary Grateful Dead. Tickets are $10, available at the door or at www.holdmyticket.com/tickets/255839.
