Hil­lary Smith, the whiskeyvoiced singer known for her al­ter­nately soul­ful and pow­er­ful R&B per­for­mances, hits more of a be­bop groove for a gig Fri­day, Oct. 28, at the Mu­seum Hill Café, 710 Camino Lejo. The Hobbs na­tive takes a break from her work with hONEy­hoUSe, her band with Yvonne Perea and Mandy Buchanan, for the 7 p.m. con­cert of blues and jazz stan­dards. Smith sings in front of a quar­tet: sax­o­phon­ist Glenn Kos­tur, pi­anist Jim Ahrend, bassist Colin Deu­ble, and drum­mer John Trenta­costa.
