2016, organic materials from the Leonora Curtin Wetlands
Axle Contemporary, 505-670-7612 or 505-670-5854 In the Axle Contemporary biennial exhibit Wilderness Acts 2016, 10 artists have created ephemeral works in sculptural form using natural materials for site-specific installations at the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve in La Cienega. The exhibition marks the second time Axle has presented an outdoor exhibit in conjunction with the nature preserve. A related show of small works by the artists is on view in Axle’s mobile gallery (see www.axleart.com for updates on its location). The Wilderness Acts Biennial was started in 2014 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act of 1964. The outdoor installation and mobile gallery show are on view through Oct. 30.
