Ge­orge To­var, a main­stay ma­gi­cian at Hol­ly­wood’s Magic Cas­tle (a place known as the Carnegie Hall of magic), brings his sleight of hand to Santa Fe’s Jean Cocteau Cin­ema this week­end. To­var, a smash hit at Cae­sar’s Palace in the 1990s, has been a prac­tic­ing ma­gi­cian and ac­tor for over 30 years. He has em­ployed his craft on TV shows such as Mur­der, She Wrote; Beauty and the Beast; and Dex­ter, and on­stage in the long-run­ning play Triple Es­presso. To­var takes an in­ti­mate ap­proach, per­form­ing for small groups of celebri­ties and at cor­po­rate and pri­vate events. To­var ap­pears at 9 p.m. on Fri­day, Nov. 11, and at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Satur­day, Nov. 12.
