Igor Melnikov: Old Park
2016, oil on panel
Turner Carroll Gallery, 725 Canyon Road, 505-986-9800 The exhibition Igor Melnikov and Edward Lentsch: Expansion Theory continues through Nov. 22. Moscow-born Melnikov moved to the United States in 1996 and is known for his brooding, melancholy, and affecting portraits of solitary children. It’s a vision of innocence in a world threatened by darkness. The colors and textures in Lentsch’s abstractions are drawn from the natural world. Lentsch is a mixedmedia artist motivated by metaphysical and spiritual themes, which he explores in large-scale compositions.
