Ward Russell: Eldi
2016, archival pigment print
Ward Russell Photography, 102 W. San Francisco St. Suite 10, 505-231-1035 In Seeing the Unseen + Two, photographer Ward Russell uses formal black-andwhite portraiture for a series on working-class people that presents his subjects in their everyday clothes, among the tools of their trades. “I try to see the Unseen,” he writes, “those people who surround us everyday, preparing our food, caring for our lawns, building our houses. We interact with them everyday, but we don’t have conversations with them, we don’t know their children, their moms, their dads. We don’t really see them.” The exhibit includes selections from Russel’s series Dance Indigenous and Cactus Nights. The reception is Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 5 p.m.
