Peters Projects, 1011 Paseo de Peralta, 505-954-5800 Peruvian-born artist Kukuli Velarde mines pre-Columbian ceramics and colonial-era Peruvian painting in the exhibit Plunder Me Baby, on view through Feb. 11, 2017. Kukuli recasts pre-Columbian art forms as self-portraits that reference indigenous struggles under European colonization. The show includes selections from her Cadavers series, figurative paintings that conflate colonial Peruvian works with contemporary imagery on religious, political, sexual, and gender issues.
