Marion Center for Photographic Arts, Santa Fe University of Art and Design, 1600 St. Michael’s Drive, 505-473-6341 The exhibition Drifting Away/Río Abajo by Colombian visual artist Erika Diettes continues through Jan. 21. Diettes’ photographs honor the victims of the decades-long armed conflict between the Colombian government, guerrillas, and drug cartels. In this series, Diettes, an artist and anthropologist who focuses on the effects of political violence and injustices around the world, takes personal artifacts belonging to the disappeared and photographs them in water, drawing from the fact that Colombian rivers have been the repositories for thousands of unidentified victims of violence.
