Madelin Coit: 11.14.16 2016, newsprint on wood armature
Center for Contemporary Arts, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, 505-982-1338 Inside CCA’s Spector Ripps Project Space is a large block of past issues of THE Magazine. Local artist Madelin Coit has been turning the issues into sculptural forms, a project that developed out of a residency at Ucross Foundation and Jentel in Wyoming, where she made sculptures using back copies of The Sheridan Press. Interface, her solo exhibit at CCA, is an ongoing installation that Coit alters weekly, deconstructing and reconstructing elements. Two of her neon works are also on display. Interface opens with a reception at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13.
