Point of contact: Ruth Zaporah

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS -

Glimpse, an improvisational dance performance by Ruth Zaporah, is conceived of in the moment, with each movement an embodiment of presence in space. Using humor, pathos, and the range of emotive possibilities in between, she creates a dreamlike environment that engages all of the senses. Zaporah, a Santa Fe resident, is the creator of Action Theater, a type of physical theater training and a performance method that relies on perception and response to move past one’s own fears and self-judgment — and is the basis for her show at the Railyard Performance Center (1611 Paseo de Peralta, 505-982-8309) on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m., where she dances to music by local composer Jeremy Bleich, with a video installation by Deborah Fort. Tickets are $20, available at the door.
