Juli Adams: Storm Watch on Ragnarson Rock 2016, oil on canvas
Pop Gallery, 125 Lincoln Ave., Suite 111, 505-820-0788 The show Shout It to the Mountain continues through February, showcasing the narrative works of Seattle-based painter Juli Adams. The title of the show comes from the song “Go Tell It on the Mountain” by John Wesley Work Jr. In Adams’ paintings, the mountain is seen as the bedrock against which quirky characters engage in absurdist actions. Her work is an example of New Brow art, which developed from the growing acceptance of lowbrow art forms in art discourse, museums, and galleries.
