Kodály takes a village: Santa Fe Community Orchestra

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS -

The Santa Fe Community Orchestra is an amateur volunteer instrumental ensemble whose director, Oliver Prezant, does not make easy or obvious picks when it comes to repertoire. On Sunday, March 5, at 4 p.m., the group joins forces with the SFCO Community Chorus for Mozart’s “Great” Mass in C minor (K.427/417a) and with the combined choirs of Santa Fe High School, St. John’s College, and Santa Fe University of Art and Design for Kodály’s Te Deum. The featured soloists are sopranos Cecilia Leitner and Christina Martos, tenor Tjett Gerdom, and baritone Carlos Archuleta. This free concert (donations appreciated) takes place at the Lensic Performing Arts Center (211 W. San Francisco St., 505-988-1234).
