Lorenzo Chavez: Winds of Time

Palace Ave., 505-982-1559 Historic and contemporary views of New Mexico’s houses of worship are presented in the annual Easter exhibit Missions and Moradas: Icons of New Mexico, 1922-2017. Spanish missions still serve many New Mexico communities and are examples of regional architecture. Moradas are small places of worship among the penitentes, who built many of them during the 19th century when they were compelled to practice their religion in private. The show includes works by Kenneth Adams, Morris Blackburn, Lorenzo Chavez, Theo White, and others, and opens Saturday, April 1. There is no reception.
