Pasatiempo - - PASATIEMPO -

renewal with Passover in full swing, as Easter begins the week and the earthy Taurus sun ends it. It’s a week of wild cards — unusual events provide us with opportunities to pay off some debts, heal old difficulties, and return to familiar traditions, people, and emotional situations. If we get stuck in old patterns, we can renew them for another cycle. It’s up to us to handle difficulties with a fresh perspective.

Those problems arise as our impulse control is down and our judgment spotty as the weekend begins. Mercury and Venus, two planets that symbolize how we interact with one another, are both retrograde and working peculiarly. Life is fine on an ordinary day, but once difficulties, arise they can escalate quickly. People will tend to react with extra charge (missiles, guns, angry words) and not think through consequences.

So let’s be part of the de-escalation team. Be willing to try and truly understand, rather than just make a point. Keep the heart compassionate and a sense of humor engaged.

We can use this time for the gifts of retrograde, which are to review our life and reconnect with family, friends, and old work. We need to travel, love, sign documents, and talk with one another. We should do so with extra attention and introspection.

Stay flexible and be ready to adjust last-minute plans as recent wild cards can throw us off center. Exercise compassion in small and larger ways as Venus is stationary. Art projects, like dyeing Easter eggs, can soothe the soul but may not turn out like we intended. Evening brings questions about the next step.

Early morning misunderstandings can snaggle us. We may spin in circles, and let’s hope we can laugh with each circuit, but slapstick will ensue if we push or try to rush, and old feelings spill out. This day works best when we take spontaneous opportunities, let go of our agendas, and engage creative process together.

Break routine and shift perspective. Midday social awkwardness can complicate issues unless we keep our priorities clear and laugh with one another as friendly Venus sextiles Mars. The mood grows serious and potentially controlling later as the moon enters competent Capricorn; release imagined goals and co-create instead.

This is an ambitious and determined day. Before building momentum, make sure everybody is on the same track. Tonight, we need to let go and refill the wells, or we can make mistakes as the sun semisquares Neptune.

Our feelings run deep and heavy this morning as the moon conjuncts Pluto. Move forward where the path is already mapped, but be wary of snap decisions. Hold boundaries clearly but without aggression. Dinnertime edginess softens as the moon first squares anxious Uranus and then sextiles friendly Venus tonight.

Early morning action slows into a steady, if somewhat awkward rhythm at midday. Dance with one another. The mood is generally amiable with a tendency to bump into sharp corners and one another as the moon enters sociable Aquarius, the sun moves into earthy Taurus, and they square off.

Deep hidden issues comes to the surface, plots ripen, and we can feel a strong urge to tell someone off as Pluto retrogrades and thoughtful Mercury backs into feisty Aries. Afternoon brings diplomatic potential as the moon trines Jupiter. Set a generous example and reap rewards.
