New Mexico Museum of Art, 107 W. Palace Ave., 505-476-5072 New Mexico is known as the Land of Enchantment. The exhibit Imagining New Mexico, currently on view at the New Mexico Museum of Art through Sept. 17, explores the mythic, fantastic, but often contradictory take by artists in response to the state’s history, land, and traditions. The show primarily highlights 20th-century works from the museum’s collection by some of the state’s most well-known artists, including Gustave Baumann, Fremont F. Ellis, Victor Higgins, and William Lumpkins.
