It’s the hol­i­day that few re­mem­ber ex­cept at Ad­di­son Rowe, which hon­ors the artist’s legacy with the ex­hibit Emil Bist­tram Day 2017, a show of paint­ings and draw­ings from through­out the Taos modernist’s ca­reer. Bist­tram, a found­ing mem­ber of the Tran­scen­den­tal Paint­ing Group with Ray­mond John­son (1891-1982) and oth­ers, also started the Taos School of Art and was a co­founder of the Taos So­ci­ety of Artists. The show is on view through May 20.
