Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS - Stardust Soup,

Circus feats, like flying through the air on a trapeze and turning half a dozen back flips in a row, can seem almost like magic in their fluid grace — but the truth is that every such move looks easy only after years of practice. In The Ups and Downs: A Recipe for presented by Wise Fool New Mexico, 29 local amateur circus artists of all ages showcase their burgeoning skills in aerial acrobatics, stilt-walking, and more in a mash-up of perspectives choreographed to symbolize the macrocosm and microcosm of human perception. Performances at Wise Fool’s studio (1131-B Siler Road) take place on Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 29, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 30, at 4 p.m. Tickets, $20 with discounts available, can be purchased by visiting www.wisefoolnewmex — Jennifer Levin
