2016, oil collage and dried blossom on paper
Evoke Contemporary, 550 S. Guadalupe St., 505-995-9902 Korean artist Soey Milk’s evocative paintings and drawings of dreamlike, stylized figures of young women have elements of fantasy, feminine beauty, energy, and power. She combines her figures with patterns, colors, and abstraction. The exhibit title Kiokada isa phonetic translation of “to remember,” and Milk sees her work as a kind of visual diary. “Every piece has a different memory and marks a specific part of my life,” she said in a statement. Kiokada opens with a 5 p.m. reception on Friday, May 26.
