Mary Sloane: Untitled (US I-40 Holbrook AZ) 2017, archival digital inkjet print
El Zaguán, 545 Canyon Road, 505-983-2567 Photographer Mary Sloane’s images of billboards in the Southwest capture a sense of isolation and abandonment. Her subjects stand like forgotten relics in the desert, remnants of a time and culture long past. Rusted, blank, and tattered, these roadside signs have no more messages to impart. Sloane’s exhibition, Billboards, is presented by the Historic Santa Fe Foundation and opens with a 5 p.m. reception on Friday, June 2.
