Sure is funky: Dumpstaphunk and The Sticky

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS -

Santa Fe doesn’t get much funkier than when that local band of self-described funkateers, The Sticky, plays an outdoor gig. But on Saturday, June 17, the situation gets profoundly funkier when The Sticky opens for Dumpstaphunk (left), the funkiest band from notoriously funky New Orleans, in a free concert at 7 p.m. at the Santa Fe Railyard Plaza (1607 Paseo de Peralta). The members of Dumpstaphunk, led by Ivan Neville of the Big Easy, began playing together on festival stages and now have three studio albums; their most recent features a varied assortment of guest artists, including Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. — Jennifer Levin
