WE CAN EXPECT FIREWORKS THIS WEEKEND. These pyrotechnics will glorify the sky, though we may also see sparks on the ground as Mars opposes Pluto. While this opposition can energize us and provide lovely July 4 shows, we can also expect profound debate.

We can see the moon and Jupiter dance together in sociable, egalitarian Libra in the evening sky on Friday and Saturday. Libra encourages us to be fair and friendly, but it also shines a strategic spotlight on what is unjust. On a personal level, we can feel driven, as if we should be doing something, but what that is may be unformed.

Mars opposing Pluto can act like a combustion engine, driving us with an inner friction. It can help us accomplish things, as Mars always feels better in action. It can also bring an accident-prone quality. It’s safer to get busy than to try and sit still, but the trick will be to pay attention. Keep clear goals in mind, and use this driving energy to get someplace. Don’t take explosives or explosive situations lightly, just proceed with eyes wide open.

On Monday, we may need some time alone, moving at our own rhythm away from other people’s expectations as an irritable Scorpio moon forms a creative grand trine with the sun in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces.

On July 4, many people will agree that we need to change, but will debate which direction as Venus enters talkative Gemini while thoughtful Mercury squares change-inducing Uranus. The evening grows more spacious and humorous with the best of fireworks as the moon enters nature-loving, freedom-seeking Sagittarius. By the end of the week, we get hints of our work for our next chapter.

FRIDAY, JUNE 30: An upbeat, friendly Libra moon creates impatience about last-minute logistics, which really need our attention. Deal with serious concerns in the morning and then release obligations in the afternoon as our attention wanders.

SATURDAY, JULY 1: Morning enthusiasm grows trickier as the moon squares Mars and Mercury midday. Opinions differ, decisions are contested and protested, and an argument can quickly escalate. Pay attention, exercise patience, and use this dynamic energy to cover a lot of ground. Hold hands and play it safe.

SUNDAY, JULY 2: The sharp-edged energy intensifies as the moon enters Scorpio around lunch; it helps to have clear goals. Avoid combustible subjects and impossible people.

MONDAY, JULY 3: It’s important to drift and dream as the Scorpio moon forms a grand trine with the sun and Neptune in intuitive, imaginative water signs.

TUESDAY, JULY 4: Take part in a community picnic as Venus enters sociable Gemini. Mercury squares Uranus, and our minds and plans can change midday. Take a chance to meet new people as the moon enters Sagittarius tonight.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 5: We can experience a fresh awareness of the world beyond our doors, though it also brings a tendency to be self-involved. Try not to assume what another feels or will do. Explore possibilities but check before committing time or money to a new project.

THURSDAY, JULY 6: A slow morning may be perfect for communing with the natural world but may not be particularly efficient otherwise. Awkward truths leak out midday — get the whole story before reacting. A new sense of seriousness helps us buckle down and make decisions this afternoon as the moon conjuncts Saturn.
