New York City’s only all-fe­male mari­achi band, Mari­achi Flor de Toloache, takes a con­tem­po­rary, mul­ti­cul­tural ap­proach to tra­di­tional Mex­i­can mu­sic with mem­bers from Mex­ico, Puerto Rico, Do­mini­can Repub­lic, Cuba, Aus­tralia, Colom­bia, Ger­many, Italy, and the United States. The en­sem­ble’s 2015 self-ti­tled de­but was nom­i­nated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchera Al­bum, and the women have per­formed around the world, in­clud­ing at the Grand Ole Opry and on The Late Show With Stephen
