Photo-eye Gallery, 541 S. Guadalupe St., 505-988-5152, Ext. 121. The surreal, imaginative landscapes and still lifes of Maggie Taylor playfully explore the realm of the psyche where the commonplace and the fantastical converge and even the most absurd images seem loaded with portent. An enchanted storybook quality infuses her photomontages, which incorporate vintage photography and found, scanned objects. “I work very spontaneously and intuitively,” she states, “trying to come up with images that have a resonance and a somewhat mysterious narrative content.” Her solo exhibition A Tale Begun in Other Days opens Friday, July 7, with a reception at 5 p.m.
