Greg Allen: Tunyo, Black Mesa 2017, oil on canvas
Art Exchange Gallery, 60 E. San Francisco St. Ste. 210, 505-603-4485 “The stark reality of nature stirs my need to capture a subject,” states artist Greg Allen. “I want the viewer to experience that same emotion to which I was drawn.” Raised in Carlsbad, Allen’s artistic abilities were nurtured from an early age. His regional landscapes recall the works of Ernest Martin Hennings, whom he credits as an influence, along with Walter Ufer and Maynard Dixon. A reception for Colors of the Southwest, an exhibit of Allen’s paintings, takes place Saturday, July 8, at 3 p.m.
