Leon Loughridge: Gorge Trail (detail)
2017, reduction woodblock print
Gerald Peters Gallery, 1005 Paseo de Peralta, 505-954-5700 The Río Grande Gorge inspired a series of woodblock prints by Denver-based artist Leon Loughridge, who shows his prints, watercolor paintings, and an eight-volume folio of his landscapes in the exhibit Gorge Songs. “The siren song of the Gorge keeps me returning over and over again, exploring and painting its delicate and volcanic beauty,” he stated. Gorge Songs opens concurrently with an exhibit of works by painter Peter de la Fuente and a show of Spanish colonial-style woodwork by Anthony E. Martinez. The reception for all three shows is at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 14.
