David Einstein: Untitled
2014, acrylic and graphite on mylar
Addison Rowe Gallery, 229 E. Marcy St., 505-982-1533 A preview exhibit of an upcoming solo show of David Einstein’s work called Making Marks — date and time to be announced — opens with a 5 p.m. reception on Friday, July 14. Einstein’s series Naissance, Wabi-Sabi Tango, Rhumba, and Mambo are featured. “Artists have traditionally been mark-makers since the beginning of time,” writes Einstein in a statement. “My drawings are about movement of color, line, the illusion of space, and the resolution of issues of space and classic figure-ground relationships.” Einstein’s works on paper recall the compositions of the Transcendental Painting Group of the modernist era.
