Power couple
Several Santa Fe galleries have had long relationships with artists Donald and Era Farnsworth, even if the artwork they were showing didn’t always bear their names. Magnolia Editions, the Oakland-based print studio founded by the Farnworths, has produced works in collaboration with dozens of established artists. Now the Farnsworths get their own solo show at Peters Projects with I Forget I’m Human. The show includes mixed-media works done on handmade papers as well as a textile from their tapestry program, a major component of Magnolia Editions that attracts artists from far and wide, including Kiki Smith, Hung Liu, and Chuck Close. On the cover is the Farnsworths’ 2017 Parasol Falls, a mixed-media collage made with antique Japanese papers on Arches rag, acrylic paints, and watercolor.
