The good earth: Choreography by Micaela Gardner
In some forms of Buddhism, termas are certain teachings or artifacts that are concealed for eventual discovery and revelation by future peoples. Earth Terma, a modern dance piece choreographed and directed by Micaela Gardner, seeks to convey inherent albeit often-denied “earth knowledge.” Set amid sculptures by Tom Joyce in the Tank Garage Galleries and Sculpture Garden at the Center for Contemporary Arts (1050 Old Pecos Trail, 505-982-1338), a trio of dancers — Spencer Toll, Micayla Duran, and Gardner — performs in a repeating cycle starting every half-hour from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday, Oct. 7, and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8. The matinee is followed by a reception with the dancers. Admission is $15-$25 on a sliding scale. — J.L.
