NT Live in HD brings Follies to the Lensic; New Mexico School for the Arts puts on Lysistrata; guitarist Derek Gripper plays Gig Performance Space; the Oasis Theatre Company presents David Mamet’s The Water Engine
The Oasis Theatre Company, newly relocated to Santa Fe from upstate New York, launches its inaugural season with David Mamet’s The Water Engine. Penned in 1976, the piece began as a radio play, but Mamet soon adapted it into an effective stage work — a fable about the relationship between individual inventors and powerful corporations in the arena of technological development. Performances take place at Teatro Paraguas Performance Space, 3205 Calle Marie, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 8 to 10; as well as at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11. The show continues Thursdays through Sundays until Feb. 25. For tickets ($25, $15 for seniors and students), call 917-439-7708. — J.M.K.
