The dy­namic cel­list Joshua Ro­man ap­pears as soloist in Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 at the con­cert of the Santa Fe Sym­phony, Guillermo Figueroa con­duct­ing, at 4 p.m. on Sun­day, Feb. 11, at the Len­sic Per­form­ing Arts Cen­ter (211 W. San Fran­cisco St.). Also on this all-Rus­sian pro­gram are Glinka’s Rus­lan and Lud­mila Over­ture and se­lec­tions from Tchaikovsky’s mu­sic for the bal­let Swan Lake .On Fri­day, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m., Ro­man of­fers a recital in the same hall, as­sisted by pi­anist Gilles Von­sat­tel, com­pris­ing sonatas by Beethoven (Op. 102, No. 1) and Brahms (Op. 99), plus Janác˘ek’s Po­hádka and Pärt’s Fra­tres.
