Angel Wynn: Galaxie 2018, mixed media with hubcap
7 Arts Gallery, 125 Lincoln Ave., 505-819-1103 Stretching a span of nearly 2,500 miles from Illinois to California, Route 66 has long held a mystique for writers, artists, and songwriters alike. Known as “The Main Street of America,” the route across the West is one of the oldest highways in the nation. Local artist Angel Wynn took several road trips along the highway, and the result of her fascination is a new body of work that incorporates found objects, photography, and collage to capture the nostalgic, vintage allure of the legendary road. Her solo exhibition Route 66: The Mother Road opens Friday, Oct. 5, with a 5 p.m. reception.
