Fisked away: Concerts at First Presbyterian

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS - — J.M.K.

First Presbyterian Church (208 Grant St.) is celebrating the 10th birthday of its C.B. Fisk tracker-action organ with recitals by distinguished practitioners. Some unusual pieces figure in the installment scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. Kimberly Marshall (left), professor of organ at Arizona State University, will perform not only more-or-less standard repertoire — by Bach, Couperin, Rheinberger, and others — but also rarely heard selections from the Lochamer Liederbuch and Buxheimer

Orgelbuch, two German compendia from the mid-15th century. This recital will run longer than the usual half-hour allotted for the church’s TGIF series. Admission is free, but contributions are welcomed.
