Alfred Hitchcock’s film was billed as a “suspenseful sex mystery” when it was released in 1964. Composer Nico Muhly and librettist Nicholas Wright turned it into an opera, drawing on the Winston Graham novel on which the film was based. Unveiled at the English National Opera last year, it has reached the Metropolitan Opera this season and will be broadcast on The Met Live in HD series. The Lensic Performing Arts Center (211 W. San Francisco St.) screens it on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. (repeated at 6 p.m.), with mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard in the title role. Tickets ($15-$28) through ticketssantafe.org, 505-988-1234. — J.M.K.
