Reading therapy dog lends an ear
CUMBERLAND — Want to brush up on your reading skills? Love dogs? Practice reading with a therapy dog who loves to listen to stories.
The Children’s Room of the Cumberland Public Library is hosting a unique program, Paws to Read, on the second Thursday of the month, through December. The dates for this reading program are Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will have a drop-in format, no registration required. Readers, age 12 and under, will have a 15-minute reading session, first come, first served. Participants should bring a book with them so they are ready to read. This program is for children who are reading on their own — age 12 and under. All volunteers teams provided by Windwalker Pet Therapy.
