North Smithfield Great Pumpkin Festival today...
NORTH SMITHFIELD — The 11th Annual North Smithfield Great Pumpkin Festival will be held today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, on the grounds of North Smithfield Middle School at 1850 Providence Pike.
The musical lineup for this year’s fall event includes many family-friendly acts such as Mr. Rowland Music Man; On Stage One “Louie Likes it Hot,” Classic Rock, Rhythm & Blues 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by ‘Charlie Marie’ a country solo artist from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. On Stage Two, “Jesse Liam Band” will entertain with popular music from the Everly Brothers and Beatles to the current charts including Jason Mraz, Train, Bruno Mars
For the 2nd year the PumpkinFest has included a Car Show with antique and exotic cars, which is enjoyed by young and old. As always, local small business retail vendors and nonprofit organizations will be presenting their best foods, lots of free games, dunk tank, crafts, activities, as well as the Bubble Guy and BoBo the Clown will be returning.
This year’s Pumpkin Festivals will have a theme of “SAFTEY” …Home, Family and Self; to accomplish this we have obtained, with the help of the N.S. Police Department, The R.I. Police Command Center for demonstrations. We will also have demonstrations of the crash dummy testing and the N.S. Fire Department will have its Fire Safety House available for viewing, many service vehicles will be in our Toucha-Truck.
Additionally, there will be a Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest, with prizes to be presented at the first annual N.S. High School PumpkinFest Bowl game to be held against Central Falls.
