Bris­tol County Sav­ings Bank tabbed as a top char­i­ta­ble con­trib­u­tor

TAUN­TON, Mass. — Bris­tol County Sav­ings Bank (BCSB), head­quar­tered in Taun­ton, Mas­sachusetts, an­nounces that it was re­cently named to the 2017 list of Top Char­i­ta­ble Con­trib­u­tors in Mas­sachusetts by Bos­ton Busi­ness Jour­nal.

The Bank was ranked No. 42 on the list of a record 94 com­pa­nies that granted at least $100,000 to Mas­sachusetts non-prof­its dur­ing the 2016 cal­en­dar year. Bris­tol County Sav­ings Bank awarded more than $1.5 mil­lion to var­i­ous Mas­sachusetts 501(c)(3) or­ga­ni­za­tions last year. The com­pa­nies were hon­ored at BBJ’s 12th An­nual Cor­po­rate Cit­i­zen­ship Awards held ear­lier this month at Fen­way Park in Bos­ton.

The Bris­tol County Sav­ings Char­i­ta­ble Foun­da­tion was es­tab­lished in 1996 as part of the Bank’s 150th An­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tion. Its pur­pose is to fund needs that con­trib­ute to the eco­nomic and the so­cial well-be­ing of the peo­ple and in­sti­tu­tions lo­cated in the greater Taun­ton/At­tle­boro Re­gion, the greater New Bed­ford/Dart­mouth Re­gion, the Fall River Re­gion and the Paw­tucket Re­gion, with par­tic­u­lar em­pha­sis in the ar­eas of ed­u­ca­tion and lit­er­acy, eco­nomic devel­op­ment and hous­ing for the low- to mod­er­atein­come pop­u­la­tion.
